Rintarou Okabe is an eccentric scientist with a never-ending lust for knowledge. In an effort to develop technology advancements that confound human psychology, Rintarou founds the Future Gadget Laboratory with the help of his ditzy but well-intentioned pal Mayuri Shiina and his roommate Itaru Hashida. Despite grandiose claims, the trio’s only noteworthy “gadget” is a microwave with the mysterious ability to transform bananas into green slime.
Rintarou, on the other hand, comes to the conclusion that there is more to the “Phone Microwave” device than first appears when he decides to attend neuroscientist Kurisu Makise’s conference on time travel after going through a series of odd occurrences. Rintarou experiments more with the “time machine,” claiming to be able to use the microwave to send text messages into the past. This attracts the wrath and attention of the mysterious organization SERN.
Rintarou and his buddies are always in danger as a result of the unique discovery. He is engaged in a struggle to save his loved ones as well as one against his deteriorating sanity as he attempts to repair the harm his invention has done to the chronology.
