A ninja from Iwagakure Village known as Gabimaru the Hollow, who is cold and emotionless, was set up by other ninja and is currently in the death row. He wants to die because he is sick of murdering and betrayal. However, no manner of death succeeds on him since, despite Gabimaru’s seeming indifference, he does have a reason to live. He wants to go back to his wife, who caused him to lose his cool and stop being a successful assassin. He therefore rejects death.

A famous executioner named Asaemon the Decapitator notices this and has an idea for the ninja. She demands a full pardon from the Shogunate in exchange for Gabimaru’s participation in a search for the elixir of life on an island south of Japan. This island, though, isn’t like other islands because it’s thought to be Paradise.

The exploration crew, which includes those who have been designated for death, may not be completely equipped to face the island’s many secrets.
